Will Cannon put together a flawless second round on Friday, carding a 10-under 61 to grab a one-shot lead at the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS. The round moved Cannon to 14-under overall through 36 holes, putting him ahead of a tightly packed leaderboard at the event.
Cannon's round was highlighted by a clean scorecard with no bogeys. He made his move early, stringing together four consecutive birdies on the front nine before adding another on the par-5 ninth to turn in 30. He kept the momentum going on the back, picking up four more birdies to close out the round.
The 61 matches the low round of the tournament so far and marks a significant step for Cannon, who is looking for his first win of the season. He credited solid iron play and a hot putter for the low score, saying he felt comfortable from the first tee.
The field remains bunched behind him, with several players within striking distance heading into the weekend. Conditions stayed favorable for scoring, and Cannon will need to maintain his aggressive approach to hold off the chasing pack. The third round is set to begin Saturday morning.
