Dolly Parton has pulled the plug on her Las Vegas residency, citing ongoing health concerns. The country music legend announced the cancellation on social media, telling fans she needs more time to recover before she can perform at full strength.
"I'm responding really well to meds and treatments, and I'm improving everyday," the Grammy winner wrote. She added that "it's gonna take me a little while before I'm up to stage-performance level." Parton did not specify the exact nature of her illness, but she emphasized that her doctors have advised rest and a slower return to the stage.
The residency, which was set to run at the Venetian Resort through early 2025, has been called off entirely. Ticket holders will receive automatic refunds. Parton expressed deep regret over the decision, saying she hates disappointing her fans but must prioritize her health.
This is not the first time Parton has faced health setbacks in recent years. She previously dealt with back problems that forced her to cancel tour dates. At 78, she remains one of the most beloved and hardworking figures in music, but she acknowledged that age and recovery go hand in hand.
Fans have flooded social media with well-wishes, and many are hopeful she will return to the stage once she is fully healed. Parton herself struck an optimistic tone, promising to be back when the time is right. For now, she is focusing on rest, treatment, and getting back to what she calls "my old self."
