MARIETTA — Memorial Health System’s Department of Cardiology recently celebrated a significant achievement in advanced cardiac care by completing its 100th transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure. This milestone was reached under the expertise of Interventional Cardiologist Jason Schott, DO, and Cardiothoracic Surgeon Geoffrey R. Cousins, MD, FACS.
As the only health system in the region providing TAVR, Memorial Health System has established itself as a leader in innovative heart treatments. The TAVR procedure offers a less invasive option for patients suffering from aortic valve stenosis, allowing for quicker recovery times compared to traditional open-heart surgery.
The success of the program reflects the dedicated efforts of the entire cardiology team, who are committed to improving patient outcomes and enhancing the quality of care. With this achievement, Memorial Health System continues to pave the way for advanced cardiac solutions, ensuring that patients receive the best possible treatment close to home.
