Golden Globe-winning actor Taraji P. Henson recently shared her passion for mental health advocacy during an interview. Inspired by her father's struggles with mental health, Henson has dedicated herself to de-stigmatizing these issues within the Black community. Through the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation, she works tirelessly to provide free therapy, scholarships, and various resources to those in need.
Henson's commitment to this cause stems from her personal experiences and the understanding that mental health challenges are often overlooked, particularly in marginalized communities. By fostering open discussions and providing accessible support, she aims to create a safe space for individuals to seek help without fear of judgment.
In addition to her advocacy work, Henson is also making waves in the theater world. She is set to make her Broadway debut in August Wilson’s acclaimed play, “Joe Turner’s Come and Gone,” showcasing her versatility as an artist. Through both her philanthropic efforts and her performances, Henson continues to inspire and uplift those around her.
