WHEELING — Wheeling Health Right is set to enhance its outreach by expanding the operational days of its mobile health unit, thanks to recent funding from the Ohio County Commission. The commissioners approved a motion that will allow the mobile unit to serve additional communities within Ohio County, increasing its presence on the road by two extra days each month.
This initiative aims to provide vital healthcare services to underserved populations across the region. The mobile unit, which operates at a cost of $1,523 per day, offers a range of medical services, including preventative care, screenings, and health education. By extending its service days, Wheeling Health Right seeks to improve access to healthcare for residents who may face barriers in reaching traditional healthcare facilities.
The decision reflects the commission's commitment to enhancing community health and ensuring that essential medical services are available to all residents. This initiative is expected to significantly benefit those in need of healthcare support in Ohio County.
